Tenure-track Faculty position in Geological Engineering

The selection criteria are as follows:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in geological engineering or a related program, and a doctorate in a discipline relevant to the teaching and research area targeted by this position, or be about to obtain a doctoral degree (thesis submitted);
• Relevance of scientific training and experience to the identified field;
• Demonstrated aptitude for conducting university-level research;
• Potential to develop autonomous and original research activities related to the identified field;
• Demonstrated aptitude or potential for university teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervision of graduate students, and committed to the continuous improvement of teaching material;
• Potential or demonstrated commitment to service to the geotechnical community;
• As Université Laval is a French-speaking university, the selected person must be able to provide high-quality teaching in French, or commit to doing so within a maximum of three years.
• Be a member of a Canadian professional engineering association or be able to become one within a maximum of three years.

Conditions
Salary according to the current collective agreement

The department is composed of a team of 13 professors who supervise about 150 undergraduate and over 80 graduate students. Research in the department is organized around four areas: geomaterials, mineral resources, natural hazard analysis, and hydrogeology.
