The School of Actuarial Science, founded in 1988, is entirely dedicated to teaching at all three levels and to research in actuarial sciences. In recognition of the quality of the training provided by the School, the Society of Actuaries has granted it the status of Center of Actuarial Excellence since 2009, while the Canadian Institute of Actuaries recognizes the School's courses in its University Accreditation Program. Also enjoying an enviable reputation in research, the School of Actuarial Science is endowed with the prestigious Chaire d'actuariat, which financially supports research projects and collaborations with scientific and professional organizations, in addition to offering student scholarships at all three levels.

The School of Actuarial Science is inviting applications for a regular tenure-track or tenured position in the field of actuarial science.

Candidates must have acquired solid skills in a field related to actuarial sciences. The selected candidate will need to develop a funded research program, supervise the research work of students at all three levels, primarily at the master's and doctoral levels, provide high-quality teaching at all three levels, and contribute to the evolution of the training programs.

Requirements:

• Have or be about to obtain, by the date of appointment, a PhD in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance, data science, or any other related field.
• Express oneself adequately in writing and orally in French, or commit to doing so within a reasonable timeframe.
• Have the ability to teach and develop an independent research program in actuarial science.

• Relevance of university education and experience in relation to the identified field, and commitment to pursuing activities in actuarial sciences.
• Ability in university teaching and in mentoring students across all three academic cycles.
• Demonstrated research skills and the potential to develop a productive, independent, and original research program.
• Interest and ability to work in a team. 
• Willingness to contribute to internal activities.
• Alignment of the profile with key competencies for the teaching role: autonomy, creativity and innovation, interpersonal skills, open-mindedness and flexibility, planning and results orientation.
• An Associate or Fellow title from a North American actuarial association is an asset.

Conditions

Salary according to the current collective agreement.
